for NCLR 2014


2014 issue special feature section on
North Carolina Literature and War

Although we will consider Civil War literature, we are particularly interested in North Carolina literature that deals with other wars, from the Revolutionary War to the current conflicts in the Middle East.

SUBMIT interviews AND critical essays by August 31, 2013

Fiction and Poetry for the special feature section
must be submitted to the Doris Betts Fiction Prize and James Applewhite Poetry Prize competitions (although submissions to these competitions do not have to be related to the special feature topic).

Fiction deadline: February 15, 2013

Poetry deadline: May 1, 2013

Creative nonfiction deadline: December 1, 2013.
