Online Submissions

The North Carolina Literary Review is no longer accepting submissions via US mail. NCLR is now using Submittable.com to accept online submissions.

After you have reviewed the submission guidelines to determine whether the reading period of your genre is currently open, click on SUBMIT ONLINE in the left menu to open NCLR Submittable in a new window. Follow the directions below to upload your submission to this site.

Directions for NLCR Submittable:

  • Click on the appropriate submission category.

    • If you are not already a registered user of Submittable, you will be prompted to create an account before proceeding beyond this step.

    • If you already have a Submittable account, log in and proceed with the submission process.

    • If the category of your submission does not appear, review NCLR's submission guidelines to determine when the reading period for that genre opens.

Note that the fiction and poetry competitions require submission fees (unless waived to subscribers--see guidelines).

If you have any questions, email the Submission Manager at NCLRSubmissions@ecu.edu or the editor, Margaret Bauer, at BauerM@ecu.edu.
